POSITION CONCEPT: This seasonal position supports the operation of the growing JA Finance Park program – a middle and high school program that engages students in a real world simulation that models the critical financial choices students will need to make as adults. This position is a key role in assuring quality and effectiveness of the student, volunteer and educator experience at JA Finance Park. The Coordinator will work 20 hours/week with the exception of June and July when this position will take a summer break.

Title: Coordinator, JA Finance Park
Area: Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Fountain. Additional sites may include, but not limited to Glenwood Springs, Canon City, and Teller County.
Reports to: JA Finance Park Manager
Status: Part-Time, Hourly
Hourly Wage: $17 - $17

Impact

This seasonal position supports the operation of the growing JA Finance Park program – a middle and high school program that engages students in a real world simulation that models the critical financial choices students will need to make as adults. This position is a key role in assuring quality and effectiveness of the student, volunteer and educator experience at JA Finance Park. The Coordinator will work 20 hours/week with the exception of June and July when this position will take a summer break.

Hybrid/flexible work environment; Seasonal position with June and July off annually.
$17/hour with an average of 20 hour work weeks. Paid holiday time off.

This position is not eligible for other benefits.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Assist with running and operating the JA Finance Park simulation to ensure a high-quality program experience for students, volunteers and educators.
- Manage volunteer sign-up and correspondence for upcoming JA Finance Park events
- Present volunteer trainings to key groups of corporate and community volunteers, coordinate the volunteer experience from recruitment, training and retention
- Deliver presentations and support to large groups of students at JA Finance Park on event days


Travel to and from simulation venues and support transportation of program materials. Currentsimulation venues include Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Fountain. Additional sites may include, but not limited to Glenwood Springs, Canon City, and Teller County.

Supervise student arrivals, event flow, and departures for each simulation.

- Throughout the simulation, ensure volunteers are on schedule and feel supported.
- Assist in the inventory tracking for all simulation resources (tablets, props, program materials, etc.).
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot common issues with simulation software and/or mobile unit materials. Maintain upkeep of technology material including charging.
- Provide the highest level of instructional excellence of the program and customer service for all stakeholders (educators, students & volunteers).
- Ensure all stakeholders (educators, students & volunteers) adhere to safety measures as required by venues/schools.
- Prep and reset to ensure that program resources and all essential materials for students and volunteers are prepared and ready prior to arrival.
- Work in partnership with the JA Finance Park Manager on evaluations, assessments, teacher support and volunteer recruitment.
- Work with school district representatives, transportation departments and host site partners to develop and support event day schedule and build program simulation calendar.
- Develop digital and print communication plans and create relevant content to provide the needed information to volunteers and students during their day in the park.
- Assist the JA Finance Park Manager in developing and preparing marketing and training materials to ensure effective recruitment and training for volunteers and educators.
- Maintain records in Blackbaud CRM, our database management system
- Manage inventory of Finance Park tech, printed materials, student and volunteer guides; Distribute printed materials to schools and volunteer partners as needed.
- Assist with the set up and break down of the mobile JA Finance Park unit for each simulation at respective host sites – Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Represent JA as an ambassador for the JA Finance Park program to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with supporting on-site tech (ipads, hotspots, charging carts) as needed.
- Support JA’s mission and the JA SOCO team through participation in special events, retreats and fundraisers annually.
- Deliver on other projects and strategic tasks as required to enhance the JA Finance Park experience.

Qualifications (required)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience managing volunteers and community programs is preferred.

Demonstrated passion for working with youth in a mission-driven organization.

Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.

Strong presentation and public speaking skills.

Exceptional communication skills and an ability to build relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders at every level of the organization.

Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced, changing environment.

Efficient, organized and detail oriented.

Proficiency and ability to learn Microsoft Office, Apple Business Manager, Mosyle, CRM platforms and other cloud-based programs.

abilities include: close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust or
focus. The employee will need a valid driver’s license and may need to be able to drive a van to travel with JA Finance Park.
